Wines

THE GREAT QUALITY OF THE DOMAINE WINES IS EXPLAINED BY:

 CLIMATE :

Our climate is much like that of Côte de Beaune, the same rainfall, the same sunshine conditions.
Our fields are oriented South and South East, the best orientation for raisin maturation.

 GEOLOGY :

The base is the calcaire of  Kimmeridgien. This is the same base as in Chablis, and explains in part the success and quality of our white wines. Certain parcels are particulary appropriate for white wines.

 TOPOGRAPHIE :

The vines are on slopes inclined between 5% and 25%.

This permit optimal water flow and a quick re-warming of the soil after rains. The fields are at 240m above sea level, also optimal.

THE SOIL :

Brown-red in color and argilo-calcaire, the same as Bordeaux soils: 33% clay, 33% lemon, 33% sand.
